Coriander Chicken

A simple and fragrant chicken dish where coriander is the star flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger and garlic and sauté for a minute.
  3. Add the spice powders: Coriander, Turmeric, and Chilli. Stir well for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate.
  5. Add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the masala.
  6. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan. Mix well.
  7. Add salt and about 1 cup of water. Cover and cook until the chicken is tender.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
